She recently announced in her campaign that she will increase the H1B visas
She also made a statement that she will try for more benefits for permanent residents.
She does not want to support only the people who are in the process of immigration???
Whats up with that.
May be she is afraid of Lou Dobbs...Recently he has been criticizing her for her Indian ties
or may be she is pro Rich Indian Americans ... this might sound ridiculous but her voting ney is crazy
They always comment about us stealing the middle class jobs...tell me one case where they don't prefer US citizen over immigrant.
I have been interviewing for couple of companies ...the first question they ask is ...Are you US citizen 2nd question r u Permanent resident ..no..

Companies do not prefer US citizens over Immigrants...I don't know where this misconception comes in to play...
There was a guy in our office who used to complain about Chineese and Indians stealing jobs...Believe he is a big slacker ..he recently got fired...people like him form these programmers guilds.
We do not work for less and we are not paid less...may be they deduct our Gc expenses but not much

When the time comes to get in front of the Indian community she sweet talks about the values and hardworking nature of the community and swears to support the community and immigrants and takes in Huge contributions. Time to vote on major efforts that do help the community really and she votes 'no' obviously its her nature to double talk and some talk show hosts have rightly identified that and drill her on that. I think its time we showed to the clintons and all those who failed us this time that our community does count and we are going to make it felt.

Them democrats, they will never help us. Because as per them "we are stealing jobs". We should really start something like the flower campaign to expose all these double talkers. I mean go and see the youtube video by Hillary about how she likes legal immigrants and all that BS. Now contrast that with her "Ney" vote for an amendment which would have helped the legal immigrant community to a great extent. With the momentum that we have currently with media, we should really start exposing these people for who they are, a bunch of hypocrites!.

You are right, it will be tough to dig into an agency that does approve your status here.
Fortunately the US justice system works for everybody. Thats the hallmark of this great country.
Anybody can go to a court and seek justice if they feel they have been harmed or suffered losses even by a govt body.
Ample evidence is available in court records for cases against USCIS by GC applicants for delays and errors. This not an opinion but a fact.
In this country you just don't get screwed or get a cold shoulder for seeking justice within the written laws.
Unfortunately numbskulls like villamonte and DED don't have a mental capacity to understand these concepts

We are 6th year H1B, but we only have a PD date of 27th July 2006.
My son turns 21 on 13th January 2008. We have an I-140 pending since August 30th 2006, which is probably a good thing because I understand that it will help to "extend" my son's time, provided it is not denied. There is no valid reason why it should be, and we have not taken up Premium Processing for that very reason.
However, with this July Visa Bulletin fiasco, who knows how long it will be before our PD date will come up again (EB-3 ROW) and we can file the I-485
Thus, I am really interested in the outcome of your case and the CSPA draft you have come up with. I have registered with Expat's Voice, as per your request.

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. I am preparing an article for NY times explaining our sufferings! Please contribute your thoughts.
1. What is America losing because of our prolonged wait for Green Cards?
2. How people who have green cards are contributing to the country as a whole ?
3. What if the whole green card process takes less than 3 years ?
Few obvious things are we would have bought a house, gone up in our carrier ladder, spend more and contribute to the economy, our spouse could have started working etc....
I am looking for thoughts and experience other than the above things.
USA is made by illegal immigrants (over 13 millions) and bonded labors (H1B - GC).
Losses suffered by illegal immigrants and H1B-GC people fuels US economy (or at least contributes to that). My contributions so far might have been above half a millions. Indirect beneficiaris are top most companies.

Just a question. Why would you file jointly if your wife doesn't work (i.e. doesn't have SSN)?

Simple answer - More standard deduction with one more dependant as wife
IRS made it mandatory to use SSN because illegal immigrants use ITIN to file taxes. This affected the legal immigrants also where ITIN is used in case of dependants who dont have work visa. If you are not legally eligible to work, you dont get SSN.
The two options left for legal immigrants are -
File separate returns one for self with ssn and another for wife using ITIN and calim one stimulus rebate for 600$
but then you get single standard deduction and your AGI is more that affects your federal and state tax.
If you do the math, its better to file a joint return and forego the stimulus rebate.
There is a catch too, if wife later gets EAD and thus SSN, you can ammend your tax return and claim the stimuls rebate

Well, the law says to issue 140,000 visas for Employment based immigration!!
The issue is USCIS that did not utilize those numbers when there was a HUGH BACKLOG!!
