My guess is that we have discussed enough about the bill. Next in the line is the dream act for children of undocumented immigrants. Do we want to have a campaign to add children of legal immigrants to the bill or we want to only discuss the implications about the act, once it is passed by house and senate.

I think you can start another job with the same job description. EAD is not tied to the employer. It is tied to you. AC21 is a blessing for us in this regard.
After 180 days, you are free and you almost got virtual GC except that you need to work in the same job description and maintain character.

Few observations based on thread postings
1) Last year around this same time not many RFE/LUD were seen.
2) Most of these cases with RFE/LUD are either EB2 around 2005-2006 or EB3 2003-2004
3) My Lawyer based out of IL confirming RFEs are in high volume and majority of these are Employment verification with Birth verification and Health letter verification as close second.
Now given the gov attitude and the current scenario it does not seem that they would be interested in pre-adjudication. There is something else that is going on. On the same note I am also seeing that people with dates which could possibly be current anytime this year are not seeing any LUD/RFE. If pre-adjudicating is the objective than these cases should have received the RFEs first.

I am not sure if USCIS will move beyond April 2004 until Jan 2009 due to the holidays and election and as someone said they want to take it easy. Even if they move the dates it does'nt help unless they approve cases with certain process in place.

Any movement for any EB is good news for all EB.:D
If EB2 cases are processed heavily till Oct 08, then the chances are high on significant movement for EB3 in Oct (jus a few months from now). For EB3-ers its time to prepare and hope for the best. Best wishes to all Eb2-ers who are current...

Just thought let me update my case here.
I filed my 485 on July 2nd @ NSC and my checks got cleared yesterday (8/11/07). So as per murthy's coment I tried looking @ back of the checks to get my LIN #'s and I was able to trace it in the USCIS web site and it shows "Application received and the Receipt notice mailed".
So I feel like they are aggressively working on the applications which are filed on July 2nd and hopefully everyone will get their Receipt notice by end of this week.
Hope this will help many people and give a good hopes.

Keep aside porting the PD between EB3 to EB2.
Just try this
Say, you wanted to buy tickets to a show or travel, there are more than one counter which is issuing tickets. You have to choose some line at random. Obviously like the people Pallavi79 choose a line which is shorter in length. After some time person observed that other line is moving fast so wanted to jump to that line. Thats fine. If you try to jump into middle of the other line based on your time entered into 1st line. If you are demanding the position...Think the situation??
And after some time if you see EB3 row is runnign fast you will jump back there? Is this a game you think??

whats wrong with you guys...you guys are filed in EB3 category...does not mean that you are less then any EB2 person.
cant you understand one simple logic? EB2 category(not an individual) will get cards sooner then EB3 category.
So if you were eligibile or had a choice, why you chose EB3????
now since you did choose, you are supporting this backgate system of porting to EB2? how do you justify that?????
you or your employer told USCIS to get a card for you in EB3 category, if you do not want that, file NEW !!!
In the eyes of americans we are skilled workers, but we all are selfish and vulnerable to white man politics!!!!
DAMN this card and I wish to see when we all cherish our self respect and does not get treated like beggars by USCIS.
If we all have balls then lets do some kind of bycott ...else keep watching your brother in this stupid ration line and you enjoy your food (if you get lucky by USCIS)

I live inTexas and fall under Sen. Cornyn constituency. I faxed his Dallas and Washington Office this thank you letter. Everyone of us can send letter to their Senators. After all we are legal tax payers.... what u all say ???

Also please call to the senators office and let them know your opinion. Please refer about the bill and convey your opinion according to the particular senator's voting on the amendment. This is very important coz this will greatly influence them and stimulate them for further similar amendments. Please dont delay. Let us heat up the issue. The amendment shows the senators are already aware of unused employment visas of previous years. Lets take this oppurtunity.

My lawyers have just said I will NOT get an EAD because I don't have a visascreen. EVEN though I have a USA RN license.
